Featured artist: Carolyn Crampton paints the way she appears when you meet her: with a sense of fun that matches her seriousness about her paintings, her whimsical sculptures, her bunny books, and her rock band. "I was attracted by the calming nature of [stuffed] toys which soothed my agitated pandemic state. I am exploring politics, current events and feelings about childhood using these characters.... Currently, I am creating silent conversations with some toy figures." Her Shipyard artist page explains more and also includes some landscapes. See more and meet her in person during Fall Open Studios October 21-22.
