I make paintings and drawings about interior perspective. I choose a layered approach, combining a variety of painting techniques, color combinations, and symbols. This allows for a constant sense of discovery in the work.
In breaking the expectations of perspective space, I find the challenge to create a space that is ‘pleasantly disorienting’. Lately I have been exploring skewed patterns that can’t fit on an already skewed wall. Often the furniture is left ‘unpainted’. This is to call attention to something that is missing, while also asking the viewer to participate in the interior design of the invented space.
Here’s a Matterport tour of my space. https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=dDRQ3vqRMo5
