Nikki Vismara

Nikki Vismara is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago & completed her Master’s degree in Paleolithic Art in Lyon, France. Nikki lived in France for nearly a decade and taught Art History at the university level. In addition to exhibiting overseas, she traveled extensively and did humanitarian work in West Africa before returning to her native California in 2013. Nikki is an active member in the Bay Area artist community and currently serves on ArtSpan’s Open Studios Committee and serves on The Advisory Board for The Asylum Project. Her large, abstract paintings are rooted in emotions and ideas, often referencing nature. Nikki’s recent work explores the concept of light and darkness coexisting, both literally and metaphorically.
