Thea Schrack was raised on a ranch in western Nebraska. Formal photographic studies began at Colorado Mountain College. From there she moved further west, attending the San Francisco Art Institute where she received a BFA in photography in 1984. Here she settled, married and raised a child. Schrack’s work crosses disciplines including painting, photography and uses the encaustic medium. She has been featured regularly in publications and in books published by Chronicle Books and is represented by galleries throughout the country.
