Benefit event for the Shipyard Gallery
We are halfway to our goal of raising $100,000 for the new Shipyard Gallery and are continuing our campaign with our very first concert and artist reception in the space:
The Bow and the Brush

Artist reception and solo violin performance by Dan Flanagan
at the Shipyard Gallery, Hunters Point Shipyard, Building 101 (the big building)

Join us for an unforgettable evening with the very first music performance at the Shipyard Gallery, and the first public artist reception in the space.
Proceeds from the event and a portion of all art sales will support Shipyard Gallery equipment, furniture, and programs.
6 – 7 PM – Reception for the Artists
- See new work by five Shipyard artists whose work inspired the musical compositions
- Mingle with the artists
- Refreshments will be served
7 – 8 PM – Dan Flanagan violin performance: The Bow and the Brush
During the pandemic concertmaster, violinist, composer and art collector Dan Flanagan started to play online concerts that were inspired by his extensive collection of local and international artists. He then commissioned local composers to write special pieces based on art works that spoke to them. Five of the artists whose works Dan has collected - Paul Gibson, Carol Jessen, Nikki Vismara, Rebecca Fox, and Nina Fabunmi - are Hunters Point Shipyard and Islais Creek Studios artists, and work by those artists will be shown in conjunction with the performance.

Donate to support the Shipyard Gallery
We are working towards our $100,000 goal to completely outfit our new Shipyard Gallery with chairs and tables, a projection screen, sound system and other equipment to support the space's multiple purposes: exhibit space, event space, classroom, and more. We are a little over halfway there and have started to install major components of the new A/V system.
