“Beyond the Union of Opposites” is an art exhibition that explores the concept of pushing through boundaries and reaching a visually undefined space through the use of various techniques such as drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. The artists in this exhibition use elements from science and math such as geometry, ratios, fractals, and wave patterns, to create abstract vistas that challenge the viewer’s imagination and push it into the fourth dimension. This exhibition aims to explore the ever-evolving search for truth in humanity, challenging the boundaries that suggest opposites in the world and encouraging the viewer to see beyond them.
Upstart Modern serves to connect artists, art lovers, and art collectors within the conversation of contemporary art. Founder Bettina Stiewe not only brings her family’s legacy of collecting art and working in the arts, but remains an active part of the San Francisco Bay Area art scene serving pivotal local institutions such as the Headlands Center for the Arts, SECA, Museum of Art and Design, Marin MOCA, Art Table, and Kala Art Institute. Upstart Modern works directly with local, national, and international artists with a hybrid platform offering a gallery space in Sausalito and consulting services nationwide for private and corporate collections.
