A mini-golf course featuring designs by Shipyard artists Susan Spies and Stacey Carter and former Shipyard artist Derek Lynch was unveiled to throngs of delighted neighborhood children and their parents November 11 at the 2017 Bayview Harvest Festival. Sponsored by local nonprofit NOW Hunters Point (link opens in a new tab), the festival also included pony rides, a petting zoo, and other entertainment, all free of charge.
The mini-golf designs honoring historic landmarks of the Bayview Hunters Point area were selected by NOW Hunters Point and the Shipyard Trust for the Arts in a juried competition earlier this year. The golf course is portable and NOW Hunters Point offers it at no charge for use in other neighborhood not-for-profit events.
