In a time of wars and atrocities, environmental cataclysms that we humans have caused and are now trying to rectify and reverse, we look to a concept – HOME – that relates to all species on earth in relation to our own personal histories. HOME also looks to San Francisco’s deep cultural communities, its place as a sanctuary city for many, and a refuge for those who find their way here.
The Drawing Room ANNEX exhibition, HOME, addresses a multitude of issues including the social and physical constructs of housing, immigration, identity and the histories of urban and land development. The exhibition is also intended to explore what the concept of “HOME” and what it provokes and inspires in each of us: emotional, sensory or physical.
