How to Locate Artists During Open Studios

Refer to the brochure handed to you as you entered, or:

  1. Find the artists you want on the Participating Artists page where you can sort by first or last name, search by name, or filter by category: building, art forms, media, or subject matter.
  2. Click on an artist to open their page on this website. Their building and studio number are listed in the right column.
  3. Use the map and photos below to locate the artist's building.

The entire Shipyard studio complex is easily accessible on foot and with mobility devices. Blue dots on the map indicate accessible entrances. We regret that second-floor studios are accessible only by stairs. Persons with limited mobility may prefer to drive between the main parking lot (near Buildings 104-125) and the small lots beside Building 101 where persons with special needs have priority for parking.

Islais Creek Studios is a single building two miles west of the Shipyard just off Evans Avenue at 1 Rankin St., a 7-minute drive or a short ride on the Muni 19 bus to the Rankin St. stop.

Building 101 access

Parking near Building 101 is extremely limited due to construction. Persons with limited mobility are given priority for the two small lots there.

  • Access Building 101 via a paved walkway from Galvez St. near the security gate. You will be directed to parking and the walkway, which leads to a wheelchair-accessible entrance to Building 101.
  • The Muni 19 Polk St - Hunters Point bus line ends just a few steps from the Building 101 walkway.
