News and Events from Shipyard Artist Laura Hapka, February 2018

From Laura Hapka:

I recently showed my artwork in Los Angeles at stARTup Art Fair at The Kinney Venice Beach. It was a juried exhibition with over 50 artists. The setting was entertaining as artists took over hotel rooms and converted them into gallery type spaces that showcased their work. For the event, I completed a site-specific painting in a new style to work with the hotel’s eccentric wall covering. It is called “The Moral Arc of the Universe is Long, but It Bends Towards Justice,” shown above. The piece is 32″ x 56” and made from hand cut, hand painted acrylic on wood panel. I am in the process of completing more paintings in this style and will exhibit them at upcoming events.
