From the gallery’s announcement:

Pamela Walsh Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition that seeks to spotlight the powerful and diverse artistic voices of female and non-binary artists exploring the concept of the female form in contemporary art. RECLAMATION aims to challenge and redefine traditional notions of the female body through a range of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, digital and mixed media.

In the landscape of contemporary art, the female body has long been a subject of exploration, interpretation, and, at times, objectification. This exhibition goes beyond mere representation to amplify the voices of artists who navigate the complexities of gender identity, empowerment, and societal constructs surrounding the female form. This exhibition aims to showcase works that challenge stereotypical depictions, foster inclusivity, and celebrate the diversity of experiences and perspectives within this realm.

Fantasy is grounded in our ancient oral traditions and mythologies and in the history of art to the present day. The exhibition, Fantasy, at Arc Studios, is a seminal contemporary exploration of the subject with extraordinary visual depictions by contemporary artists in an expansive breadth of media: painting and drawing, collage and mixed media, photography, sculpture, and more. As a juror, I was entranced by the artwork the artists presented – alternately strange and wondrous, and humorous and terrifying, often at the same time. This exhibition invites the viewer to come in close, explore the fantasy worlds created by these artists, and to set their own imagination free.
