News from Hunters Point Shipyard artist Nicole Mueller:
“Abstract Now” Exhibition
Last month I returned home from my artist residency at the Pouch Cove Foundation in Newfoundland, Canada, where I spent the month of April creating new work.
The residency culminated in an exhibition of new paintings created during the month at James Baird Gallery in Pouch Cove called “Abstract Now” featuring my work alongside fellow abstract painters Charlie Clermont (Québec City, Canada), Sol Kordich (Berlin, Germany), and Pablo Lozano (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Public art project in Tempe, AZ
I am beyond thrilled to share that I’ve just been selected to complete a permanent public project in Tempe, Arizona for a new public park and recreation center, scheduled to open in 2023.
I’ve been commissioned to work with the city, the design team, and stakeholders to create a series of pieces both indoors and outdoors that will help to bring a cohesive sense of identity to the site.
This project is unlike any other I’ve completed, and I’m incredibly excited to expand my practice into new disciplines while realizing more of my work in public spaces.
I am excited to be working with the City of Tempe Arts and Culture, Tempe Parks Department, along with the architects and landscape architects to complete this unique and ambitious project.
