Update: see end of this post for a more recently completed commission
Islais Creek Studios artist Rebecca Fox announces:
I am thrilled to announce that I recently completed a commission for The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
I was commissioned to make six sculptures: one for their lobby plus five additional award sculptures that will be given annually to their employees.
My instructions were to encapsulate the theme of Grit, Grace and Gratitude where all elements are equally important and one can not exist without the other. I envisioned and executed this theme by creating three elements that are individuals yet come together all at one point and they all hold each other up.
For the award sculptures, I used the main sculpture as inspiration and created five identical small sculptures utilizing the same theme.
This was an exciting and challenging commission to work on, especially to create five identical sculptures. I really enjoyed the challenge!
Update October 4, 2022:
I was commissioned to create three 18” x 18” wall sculptures for my clients’ entry wall in their Bay Area residence.
This work is based on my Circle Mists series where I created sixteen 6” x 6” wall sculptures. It was a challenge to scale the series up and quite a bit of a learning curve, but I am very happy with the results! I created the illusion of depth in the work and as you move around the piece, it changes.
I’m grateful to my new collectors for envisioning this series on a larger scale and am very thankful that I had the opportunity to make and scale up my new work.
If you’d like to commission me to make my Circle Mists series in any size and in various colors, please contact me so we can discuss your project.
