Pep Ventosa’s work explores the photographic image, deconstructing and reconstructing photographs to create new visual experiences.  He uses anywhere from dozens to hundreds of separate shots as raw material, layering them together to find new expressions of familiar landscapes and icons.  See the show online

In his New Faces from the Past series, Pep overlays photographs of master paintings from the Renaissance and beyond, to bring alive new faces and characters from the past, with a rich assembly of forms, textures and colors.  The show also includes trees, French carousels, and streetlamp pieces from his In the Round series.  A range of subjects from his Reconstructed Works rounds out the show; for these he shoots his subjects first in smaller captures, before rebuilding the puzzle to uncover a new image filled with the subtle motion of many smaller perspectives.
