Description
The Vista Bench is crafted from original historic handrail placed on the Golden Gate Bridge during its construction in the 1930s and removed during a handrail replacement in 1993. It incorporates a slab of unique, locally salvaged wood with a live edge (Monterey Cypress from Coit Tower shown in pictured example – Other available woods shown in photo gallery: Coastal Redwood from Lombard Street, Black Acacia from Fisherman’s Wharf, and California Black Walnut).
The distinctive patina and weathering in the steel from 56 years of exposure to the wind and salt air of the Golden Gate is preserved and featured as each bench is hand-crafted, one at a time.
Since each bench is crafted by hand once an order is received, I ask that you allow 4 to 6 weeks on availability if I do not already have a finished Vista Bench in stock.
Each bench is numbered and comes with a Letter of Authenticity. Once the assigned production run is completed, the design is retired.
The Vista Bench design has a limited production run of 49
