Artist Talk by Silvia Poloto
November 17 at 6:30 p.m.
555 California St, San Francisco, CA 94104

This series emerged as an outcome from my fascination with the idea of archetypes and the collective unconscious as an inherited database. The resulting paintings hold elements of several different archetypes, while the faceless portraits allow room for the audience to see aspects of themselves in new and compelling ways.

Group Exhibition at Artonomi Fine Art

The actual SAINT and SINNER that didn’t make it to 555 California St because they were showing too much skin!  But they sure look good in this new gallery in Tiburon. Go check them out!

Silvia Poloto | Quick Bio

“Silvia Poloto, a talented and prolific Brazilian-born mixed-media artist, self-taught and inner-directed, is not a product of America’s art higher-education system, she is an artist committed, almost defiantly, to self-expression and emotion. Her work has been exhibited in United Arab Emirates, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Egypt, China, as well as the United States. Bay Area venues displaying her work include the DeYoung Museum, where she was an artist in residence, the Italian-American Museum, the Triton Museum, and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Her work resides in over eighty corporate collections and hundreds of private collections.”
– DeWitt Cheng, Art Critic and Writer
