Play Date, an art show for the young at heart…

Firehouse Art Center
Pleasanton, CA

Art show dates: August 2 through September 14

Opening reception: Thursday, August 1
from 7 to 9pm

About the exhibit:
The show features art by Susan Else, Dmitry Grudsky, Martin Hsu, Diana Krevsky (a Hunters Point Shipyard artist), Hugo Kobayashi, Joshua Nissen King, and Carolyn Crampton (a Hunters Point Shipyard artist).

It’s a vibrant exhibit exploring creative interpretations of play and playfulness. The exhibiting artists use play in surreal and satirical ways. Original and complex, Play Date speaks to the young in all of us, engaging viewers of all ages in a conversation about imagination and the roles this has in our lives.

Shipyard artist Carolyn Crampton writes: I’m thrilled to have six of my still life paintings featuring animals in this group art show presented by the Harrington Gallery in Pleasanton. If you are in the area, please come by what should be a lively opening reception, and say “hi”. [Featured here are details from three paintings.]
