I choose my subjects matter always very close to my environment. It forces me to revive my perception of the mundane. I will take my easel to my dining room and start to paint a bowl of fruit, bathed in light. I will then paint on the canvas the words describing the emotion associated with that particular setting.
I will end up painting many subjects, lot of flowers at the moment, but also tables, set for a meal, or faces inscribed in rough collages.I sometimes work for a special commission and it is a wonderful process forme to be able to be inspired outside of my private world.
