Nikki Vismara

Nikki Vismara is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where she majored in Visual & Critical Studies. She completed her Master’s degree in Paleolithic Art at l’Université Lumière in Lyon, France. Nikki lived in France for nearly a decade, where she taught English and Art History at the university level. In 2013, she returned to her native California. Nikki is an active member in the Bay Area artist community and currently serves on ArtSpan’s Open Studios Committee. Her large, abstract paintings are rooted in emotions and ideas, and they often reference nature. Nikki’s recent work explores the concept of light and darkness coexisting, both literally and metaphorically.
